Sweet Run 2016: We Need You!

In Portland, a team of volunteers are meeting for a group run. They have committed to raise money and awareness in order to offer tangible resources to people who have been sex trafficked, and those working in the adult industry. All of them have busy schedules and plenty of commitments, and they could have used another couple of hours of sleep, but it’s a small sacrifice of time and effort for something they believe in. They know every dollar they raise is making a difference.
In Las Vegas a woman is lacing up her running shoes and stretching. She has a half-marathon coming up in October, and she’s ready to tackle a five mile training run. Running and fundraising are hard for her, but she’s determined to post a picture today and ask her friends and family to sponsor her for a life-changing cause. She genuinely believes that justice matters and that all of us can help make a difference in the world.
Why fundraise? Why run?
Because we believe in empowering people to achieve their goals. We exist to provide assistance to our clients who come to our organization with issues such as sex trafficking, domestic violence, homelessness, sexual assault, career support and coaching, therapy, medical & dental needs, and more. Our 2016 Sweet Run is quickly approaching…October will be here in a flash.
We need your help!
We are only halfway to our goal of having 75 runners participating in the event. 75 runners, raising a collective $80,000 dollars, helps us provide another year of support for our clients in Las Vegas, Portland, and beyond. Will you considering running with us? Three miles or thirteen, every step matters! Can’t run with us? Can you donate instead? Every dollar makes a difference in the lives of our clients. We can’t do it without you!
We are still signing up runners for the 5k, 10k, and half-marathon in both cities. You can even run virtually and earn a medal! Sign ups are available on our website: www.thecupcakegirls.org/sweetrun.
If you would like to donate to our Sweet Run (or even fundraise without running), you can visit our Sweet Run page and choose a runner to sponsor, or set up a fundraising page of your own: www.thecupcakegirls.org/sweetrun.
Finally, we are still looking for business sponsors! If you have a business and want to receive a tax deduction for 2016, while helping a local charity, learn more on our page: www.thecupcakegirls.org/sweetrun.
Your support is changing lives. Believe it!
