charlotte stokely

BOARD CHAIR

At a young age, Charlotte Stokely (she/her) learned the key to happiness is compassion, empathy and respect. She is in the AVN Hall of Fame and has worked in the Adult Entertainment industry since 2004 in all walks of Sex Work such as Feature Films, Content Creation, Strip Clubs, Camming and more! She enthusiastically brings her knowledgeable experiences and ideas to The Cupcake Girls Org Board to help better serve and listen to the needs of clients.

She is also a certified Sex Educator, certified Health Coach and worked as a holistic healer for 6 years.

In her free time she likes to study heliophysics, ancient civilizations and watching DIY videos on YouTube.

If you get the chance to meet her she’ll likely tell you at least one Dad Joke or pun and show you pictures of her cat.


DR. DOMINIQUE BURNS

TREASURER

Dominique (she, her) has worked as a Counselor Educator and is currently an assistant professor at New England College. She has worked as the Title IX Coordinator at an HBCU. Additionally, she served as the Statewide Human Trafficking Coordinator for the Ohio Network of Children’s Advocacy Centers. She received her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision in December 2018 from the University of Toledo, in Toledo, Ohio. Dr. Burns received her MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (2015) from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada. In addition to receiving her BA in Psychology (2012) from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Burns is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Ohio, Clinical Professional Counselor Intern in the state of Nevada, and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC).

Previously, she served as a victim advocate and professional counselor for a community agency in Clark county serving survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence, rape, and sexual assault. Her passion and professional experience working with survivors led her to serve on The Cupcake Girls National Board of Directors where she uses her skills in services of TCG and community at large. She enjoys being outdoors, yoga, dance, poetry, reading, and spending time with family and friends.


DR. MONIQUE MARTINEZ-QUIROS

VICE CHAIR

Dr. Monique (she/her/hers) is a doctorate-level, dually licensed (NV & AZ) behavioral health professional with a specialty in integrated behavioral health encouraging and guiding others to make healthy behavioral changes. Her expertise is guiding all types of clients to make the changes they need in order to be the best version of themselves by creating a personalized plan in order to sustain healthy lifestyle changes through appropriate nutrition and psychological wellbeing via traditional counseling and virtual reality.

She has been on the “other side of the couch” and has learned to create a safe place where people can be their authentic selves, even if just for that hour they share with her. She works primarily with adults, high conflict couples, children involved in high conflict situations, immigration evaluations, and sex workers as well as others in the adult industry by way of Pineapple Support and other adult platforms. Dr. Monique is also bilingual in Spanish and English.

On a more intimate note, Dr. Monique is originally from the “Old Pueblo” in AZ, Latinx, has two children, a husband, enjoys trying new local restaurants, and has eclectic spiritual interests.


ARIEL RICHER

BOARD MEMBER

Ariel (she/her) is Afro-Indigenous and white, descendant of Carib Indians, the Indigenous people of Venezuela and Trinidad and Tobago. She is an Assistant Professor at the University of Utah, College of Social Work. Ariel earned both a Master’s Degree and a PhD in Social Work at Columbia University School of Social Work, and has been a Licensed Master Social Worker for 8 years. She is an interventionist who engages in community-driven research to co-create culturally-tailored interventions and services that address the substance use, intimate partner violence, and HIV and STI risk (SAVA) syndemic. Ariel works with Black, Indigenous, and queer communities who use drugs who experience structural stigma related to drug use, involvement in the criminal-legal system, sexuality, and racism. She is also the Co-Founder/Director of Urban Indigenous Collective, a community-based public health non-profit that serves urban-living Indigenous people living in Lenapehoking (New York City) and the surrounding tri-state area.

Ariel is fiercely committed to addressing gender-based issues at large, especially gender-based violence and MMIP (missing and murdered Indigenous people) and has over nine years of experience within domestic violence organizations, sexual assault resource centers, and economic enhancement programs serving survivors of trafficking and domestic violence.


SOFIA ROSE

BOARD MEMBER

The oldest of 10 children, Sofia Rose (she/her)  is a natural leader and self-driven individual.  Being raised in a humble environment taught her to be resourceful, have faith, and be driven to acquire what she seeks in life. Sofia is a multi-award winning performer, with a plethora of prestigious awards to her name since her career unexpectedly took off in 2006. Sofia is a respected trailblazer, championing marginalized communities and advocating for inclusion and diversity.

She has been featured in many notable podcasts and interviews, including the New York Times. She has been published in both Print and online and featured internationally.

Sofia has worked with many nonprofit organizations specifically in the adult industry, and is passionate about making change for the greater good of her peers, and community. She has served her community and fellow performers as a coach, counselor, and mentor and is always finding ways to problem solve and improve and serve her community.

As an independent entrepreneur, Sofia is always seeking self-enrichment and refinement by reading, listening to podcasts, and taking educational courses such as Women in Leadership at Cornell University. Sofia believes, no matter how good you are, you can always improve, grow and find opportunities to learn and elevate.

In her free time, you can find her gaming, playing with her dog, or doing pilates. If you’re ever feeling down, you can always turn to Sofia for uplifting words of encouragement, a listening ear, and even a quick-witted joke. If you ever get a chance to spend time with Sofia, beware, not only will she show you love and compassion, she will have you believing in yourself.     


MELISSA SIMS

BOARD SECRETARY

Melissa (she/her) has a professional background in non-profit fundraising & communications and spent a large portion of her career working for 501c(3) organizations. While she now works in the corporate world her passion and values have not changed. Her life’s purpose is to leave the world in a better place than it was when she entered it.

She has been supportive of The Cupcake Girls from afar in Seattle, and is honored to offer up her time, skills, support and energy to the board.  Melissa is looking forward to fostering relationships with the community that uplift, love, respect, and deeply care for clients.

In her spare time you can find her in the gym working out, coaching fitness & nutrition, or creating artwork.


SHANNON ANDERSON

BOARD MEMBER

 

Shannon (she/her) moved to Las Vegas, NV with her wife and furkids from Phoenix, AZ in 2019. After falling in love with the downtown community by way of volunteering, they purchased their first home together just east of downtown.

After graduating from college, she began what has become a 20+ year career with Gannett. During this time, she has held various positions and is currently the Event Marketing & Project Manager | Top Workplaces. Her passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace led her to active roles within the company’s ERG programs, including PrideForward, where she served as a co-lead. This leadership led to a full term served on Gannett’s diversity board with focus on employee experiences.

There is little down time in Shannon’s life. However, when not working or volunteering, Shannon enjoys hiking, camping, traveling with her wife and dogs, rock climbing with her friends, and STRIDE Saturdays.


MIRIAM BELLOWS

BOARD MEMBER

 

Miriam (she/her) is an advocate for empowerment, leveraging her experience to drive positive change.  She joins the board after a year and half of dedication volunteering on The Cupcake Girls’ Events team, hosting, fundraising and championing for TCG, working hard, while having fun. Miriam’s background is in biomed, doing infectious disease research as she wrapped up her Masters of Science in Bioinformatics. From here she translated these analytical research skills to Marketing, working with agencies and in house, all industries. Honing in on this decade of experience to focus on strategy, analytics, and Project Management has propelled her work as a Business and Marketing Consultant. She’s experienced with guiding organizations towards growth and transformation, strategic decision-making and driving impactful outcomes. Her commitment to collaboration, holistic balance, and innovation is evident in every endeavor she undertakes.

When she is not working on fun projects or people, you can find her outside enjoying patios, kayaking, adventuring around the PNW or abroad! Where to next?


TRINA BROWN

BOARD MEMBER

 

Trina (she/her) currently lives in Idaho, by way of Nevada, Connecticut and California. She attended California State University Long Beach and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice in 2002. She spent many years working in social services in Nevada, assisting with delivery of self-reliance programs. While in Nevada she connected with The Cupcake Girls and spent 5 years volunteering and working for them in multiple capacities
prior to moving out of state. Trina moved to Idaho and pursued her Masters in Social Work from Boise State University which she completed in 2019. She currently works at a local hospital providing mental health and substance use assessment, and coordinates care for her clients in the community. She also provides EMDR, a trauma therapy in the community
to first responders.

Trina is passionate about The Cupcake Girls and their vision to provide resources, advocacy and support. She believes the clients served by TCG deserve the support of others and the community, as we all do. As humans it is our calling to be there for each other, and take steps to better understand each other through connection.

In her free time, Trina enjoys spending time with her husband, 5 kids, and foster children on their small acreage farm. She loves exploring the Pacific Northwest in their travel trailer, drinking coffee, having dance parties, spending time in the garden and taking care of livestock and other animals on the property.


COURTNEE DRAPER

BOARD MEMBER

 

Courtnee Draper (she/her) has been passionately advocating for social justice for most of her life. For decades she has been part of nonprofit organizations working to provide resources and support to the marginalized, underserved, and victimized in our community. As a survivor of domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as a member of the LGBTQ, Courtnee knows personally how people in the most vulnerable populations are often taken advantage of. Her passion for social justice and empowerment is rooted in how she grew up, what she has triumphed over, and her desire to extend a hand of compassion and support to those in similar situations.

She previously served as a Board Member and Spokeswoman for Kids With A Cause, Inc., a nonprofit organization working with children and teenagers who were abused, neglected, and/or terminally ill. She is currently a Deputy District Attorney for the County of Los Angeles in the Sex Crimes Division, primarily advocating for children and young women who are survivors of sexual abuse and assault. Her desire in serving on The Cupcake Girls board is to assist survivors of sex trafficking and consensual sex workers who are seeking resources and services free of judgment and saviorism. To have agency over one’s body and to thrive in that agency is a right that all human beings are entitled to and deserve.


JILL KAYS

BOARD MEMBER

 
 

Jill (she/her) is excited to be part of the board for The Cupcake Girls. She has been in the social work field for 15 years and she’s effectively worked with many organizations in the community here in Las Vegas.

Raising her 3 children in a world where individuals are able to fully express themselves is important to her. This is why she commits herself to donating her time and energies to further that mission. 


LEAH MAHI

BOARD MEMBER

 

Leah (she/her) currently resides in Los Angeles, having relocated from Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, in 2014. In her role with XBIZ as the Business Director for the digital media market, she works closely with industry brands, talent, and various other organizations to fuel their success.

As a certified Life Coach, Leah promotes kindness and fosters positive human connections. Her personable nature is indicative of her love for people.

On a personal note, Leah is over the moon in love with her husband and a proud mother to four children. She cherishes her family time, often spent on the sidelines of her kids' sporting events. Given a free weekend, Leah’s ideal getaway is a day at the beach, either riding the waves or swimming for distance and time. 


MISTRESS MEI

BOARD MEMBER

 

Mistress Mei (They/Them) is a pioneering advocate with over 12 years of experience as a sex worker. As the founder of Decrim 305, they've been at the forefront of the sex worker rights movement, striving for the decriminalization of sex work to ensure safety and human rights.

Mistress Mei's influence extends to founding Miami's inaugural Slut Walk Miami in 2020, a powerful platform for promoting sex work decriminalization. They also contribute their harm reduction expertise as a board member of The Cupcake Girls, furthering the organization's support for individuals in need.

Art is an integral part of Mistress Mei's impactful journey. They skillfully fuse advocacy with creativity, offering a distinct and captivating perspective that deeply resonates. Through their unwavering commitment, Mistress Mei envisions and works tirelessly towards a world where stigma and discrimination against sex workers are eradicated, allowing all individuals the freedom to live and work securely and without fear.


CLARA TANG

BOARD MEMBER

Clara Tang (she/her) currently holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculptural Practices and is pursuing a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. As a previous Junior Program Coordinator at The Cupcake Girls, she has worked directly with program participants and as a result, has gained a deep understanding of the population we serve. She is honored to bring this knowledge to the Board to ensure that participants have the best possible experience with the organization. Once she obtains her acupuncture license, she aims to partner with not only The Cupcake Girls, but other non-profits to provide affordable care to underprivileged populations.

Outside of being a student and Board Member, Clara is a music producer, DJ, loving cat mom, and a big advocate for staying hydrated.
