The Cupcake Girls is always looking for committed, passionate people who’d like to join our Las Vegas, Portland, and National teams. Attend monthly team meetings (remote available)

CURRENT VOLUNTEER NEEDS
Team needs depend on our current volunteer availability. Please bring your top three team choices to orientation, as some teams may be full.
Operations Team
Events : Help plan and execute events, fundraisers, and educational activities, while assisting with obtaining donated goods for event facilitation or raffles.
Hospitality : Assist with baking cupcakes, catering events, and delivering cupcake orders from the baking site to The Cupcake Girls' office.
Networking : Engage with the community by attending networking events, tabling at local businesses, and talking about the organization to help gain volunteers, partners, and donors. Volunteers should be comfortable in public spaces and speaking with strangers.
Office : Maintain office cleanliness, take inventory of supplies and goods, assist with obtaining donated gifts, and handle thank-you letters.
Partner Engagement : Research potential partners, maintain information in the database, communicate with partners via email or phone, celebrate partnerships, and assist with the monthly Partner Newsletter. (Partners are businesses offering services to our Participants for either pro bono or discounted services).
Social Media : Create social media materials, design social media schedules, and help maintain social media platforms.
Volunteer Care : Assist with onboarding new volunteers, maintain volunteer information, celebrate volunteers virtually, plan volunteer events, and recruit new volunteers.
PROGRAMS Team
Participant Advocacy : Provide one-on-one support to participants by setting goals and matching their needs with vetted resources or partners, averaging 5 hours per week. Must complete 30 days with organization before applying to be an advocate, and a background check is required. Accepted advocates undergo in-depth training held at least once in spring and fall.
Resources : Admin tasks include sourcing, researching, and maintaining our online database of resources, ensuring they are safe and inclusive for our participants.
Support Groups : Facilitate group meetings with participants, providing space for them to talk, use tools, and gain support.
Outreach : Assist with our in-person free store once a month, attend events focused on finding potential participants, and reach out to participant-run groups to offer assistance and resources.
THE VOLUNTEER APPLICATION PROCESS
To ensure the best experience for our volunteers and program participants, The Cupcake Girls asks all potential volunteers to submit an application and complete an in-person orientation where we’ll help match your unique passions and skills to volunteer opportunities.
We have two physical locations in Portland, Oregon, and Las Vegas, Nevada. Most of our volunteer opportunities are available in or around those branches. However, we do have national opportunities available, so if you live outside Oregon or Nevada please still apply! We’d love to work with you.

After you’ve completed these steps, we’ll invite you to an upcoming volunteer orientation.
At orientation, you’ll learn more about The Cupcake Girls’ mission and we’ll train you on the basics of our organization’s culture and processes. At the end of orientation, we will connect you with the team that matches your skills and interests.
